Academy Award winning song from 1966, Born Free. British songwriters John Barry (James Bond soundtracks) and lyricist Don Black take credit for this great song.

Born Free has typically been perfomed-recorded straight and majestically (as in the versions below) but just as in the other tracks on America the Beautiful, Swinging, Lamphere and the five musicians give this movie song a complete new sound.

Some MAJOR swinging happening here! Listen to guitar great Andy Brown bend those  strings to get that strong bluesy sound, thumping bass and drums, while legendary saxman Eric Schneider wails.

Andy Brown guitar
Larry Harris piano
Dennis Carroll bass
George Fludas drums
Eric Schneider alto sax
Frank Lamphere vocal
